QUESTIONS?

What is the order of service?

There is no printed order of service or complicated ritual to follow.
Our worship is based upon biblical patterns and is simplistic in format.

Why do we clap our hands?
We clap our hands out of joy and acclamation of God's greatness.
The Bible says:  "Clap your hands all you nations, shout to God with cries of joy."       Psalms 47:11

Why do we lift our hands?
We lift our hands as an expression of surrender in prayer and worship.
The Bible says: "I will praise you as long as I live and in your name I will lift
     up my hands."
     Psalms 63:4

Why do we pray out loud?
We often pray out loud as an expression of what God is doing in our heart.
The Bible says:  "Through Jesus, therefore let us continually offer to God a
sacrifice of praise the fruit of our lips that confess His name."
     Hebrews 13:15

What about singing?
The Bible says:  "Do not get drunk on wine which leads to debauchery, instead
be filled with the Spirit.  Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual
songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord."
     Ephesians 5:18-19

Why annoint with oil?
It is a biblical practice to place a small amount of oil, normally on the forehead on
the person being prayed for.  In the Bible oil symbolizes the Holy Spirit through
     whom Jesus heals today.
The Bible says: "Is any one of you sick?  He should call for the elders of the              church to pray for him and annoint him with oil in the name of the Lord."
     James 5:14
